Install the air regulator upstream but close to the air wipe. Indeed, you may want many throughout the system as, by adjusting the pressure down to the lowest possible functioning level at each air-using application, you can save a substantial amount on your monthly compressed air bill.
Rule No. 2:
Raising the air pressure should be reserved as the last measure to accommodate the line speed. Make sure you have the optimum combination of material, surface finish condition and gaps within your air wipe, including eliminating all air leakage, before you adjust the air pressure.
Rule No. 3:
Gradually adjust the air pressure until the wire is cleansed to your satisfaction. In the event increasing the air pressure fails to completely clean the wire, the reason may be the length of the wiping cylinder does not match your wire speed. Consider using COSMOS dual modular air wipe.
Please take note that all of our air wipe quick couplings are rated at 15 bars or 217 psi, which is considered adequate for the majority of air wiping applications.
